The Black Forest Restaurant features exceptionally fine German cuisine, and specializes in wild game and fowl such as elk, snow goose, pheasant, and duck. Our menu also features freshly prepared American fare and seafood.

Established in 1959 by restaurateur Wilhelm Lorenz , the Black Forest Restaurant relocated from Black Hawk to Nederland in April of 2000. At that time Alfred Arias, long time chef at the restaurant, joined in partnership with Wilhelm. They continue in their tradition of providing great service
and unsurpassed food to people from every walk of life and to travelers from all over the world. Now with its 3 generation of family, that Black Forest Restaurant is a place of home and family with a warm greeting at every table.

Within our mountain chalet facility, four dining rooms are comfortably appointed and arranged to accommodate a quiet, eloquent dinner for two or parties of 200. Three moss rock fireplaces contribute to the warm ambiance in our spacious main dining room and lounge. If it's the great outdoors you're seeking, you will enjoy incredible Rocky Mountain views while relaxing next to the waterfall in our four-season garden room.

The acclaimed Black Forest Restaurant is located in the mountain community of Nederland, Colorado just eighteen miles up picturesque Boulder Canyon. Linking the Gate Way of Rocky Mountain National Park to the historic gambling towns of Black Hawk/Central City, we are at the center of the popular Peak-to-Peak Scenic Highway and easily accessed from all major Front Range locations.
